Itsukushima Island is home to the World Heritage Site, Itsukushima Shrine. Located in Aki District, just east of Hiroshima City, this town faces the Seto Inland Sea and is a transportation hub where the JR Sanyo Main Line and Kure Line diverge. It's only about a 10-minute train ride to central Hiroshima City and offers good access to Kure. Historically, it was a post town on the old Saigoku Kaido road, and historical sites such as the Chiba Family Residence (a nationally designated Important Cultural Property) remain. It's an area with accommodation demand, catering to business travelers from Hiroshima City.

Fukuyama is the central city of the Bingo region in eastern Hiroshima Prefecture. Its main gateway is Fukuyama Station on the JR Sanyo Shinkansen line, and it boasts a wide selection of business hotels.
