New Hotel in Otsu

Otsu is the capital of Shiga Prefecture and a lakeside city at the southern end of Lake Biwa. Its proximity to Kyoto Station (approximately 10 minutes from JR Otsu Station) makes it a popular base for sightseeing in Kyoto. Ogoto Onsen (hot spring) is also nearby, and there are plenty of historical tourist spots such as Enryaku-ji Temple on Mount Hiei, Omi Jingu Shrine, and Ishiyama-dera Temple. The Hira Mountains are home to Biwako Valley Ski Resort (a ski resort with spectacular views of Lake Biwa from a ropeway), which is popular with skiers from the Kyoto-Osaka-Kobe area.

New Hotel in Nagahama City

Nagahama is a castle town located on the northeastern shore of Lake Biwa in northern Shiga Prefecture. Its main attractions include Kurokabe Square (a tourist area featuring Meiji-era glass museums and craft shops), the Nagahama Castle History Museum, and the cherry blossoms at Toyo Park. Winter delicacies such as Kohada (a type of sweetfish from Omi) from Lake Biwa are also a local specialty. As a gateway to northern Shiga Prefecture via the JR Hokuriku Main Line, it offers convenient access to Lake Yogo and the Okubiwako Parkway. Hikone is a castle town in eastern Shiga Prefecture, home to the national treasure Hikone Castle.
